Welcome to the second edition of The SEO Update, a weekly roundup of all things related to SEO, SEM and – quite frankly – anything I happen to find interesting. This week, we will be talking about those iPhone 7 Pro rumors (and photos?), Google Analytics' ongoing redesign, Facebook Messenger’s latest milestone, and the future of mobile ads.

Google Analytics is Getting a Facelift

The chatter is real, folks! Google analytics is in the process of rolling out a brand new design interface. SEO Barry Schwartz, AKA Rusty Brick, was among the first to report on the new design. The update has been described as "a much cleaner look."

Reports of design changes first surfaced several weeks ago. As is often the case with Google, the tech juggernaut is opting to roll out the update in waves. If your dashboard hasn’t been updated, you can see screenshots of the new display at SEO Roundtable (link below).

Facebook Messenger Hits a Milestone

Earlier this week, Facebook made a major announcement. The social networking site hit an incredible milestone with their messaging app, Messenger. According to Facebook, Messenger now has over 1 BILLION worldwide users each month – a feat that very few apps have been able to accomplish.

To celebrate, Facebook has issued a floating balloon gift to every user, which they can use across the application.

Will Mobile Ads Soon Be Able to Keep Up with AMP?

Google revolutionized the world of mobile internet earlier this year, when the company unveiled AMP – the Accelerated Mobile Pages Project. This project aimed to speed up the delivery of content from publishers to mobile viewers. And, against the odds, it worked!

Now, Google is bringing that same focus to mobile ads. The program, AMP for Ads, will offer a number of resources to advertisers, so that they can build ads that will display much faster across mobile devices. Keep in mind, Google isn’t selling a new advertising program. They are simply providing a list of guidelines and code that advertisers can use to create blazing fast ads.

Like AMP before it, AMP for Ads is totally open-source.

Did Photos of the New iPhone 7 Pro Just Leak?

Brace yourself, Apple fans! According to a number of reports, Apple is set to release a brand new iPhone model.

The iPhone 7 Pro, a phone that can only be described as gigantic, is rumored to be released in September of this year. Rumors of the new device re-circulated earlier this week, when a popular leak site posted a photo of what they claim to be a side-by-side comparison of the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 Pro.

Yes, a number of online sites make unsubstantiated reports of new Apple products all the time, and they are often wrong. But, they rarely receive national attention from Forbes. That was not true this week, when the media giant published a report on the alleged leak.

In addition to highlighting both the “Good News” and “Bad News” surrounding the rumored device, Forbes praised the original source, NoWhereElse, for “[nailing] every major Apple and Samsung launch for the last two generations.”

That’s it for now, friends. See ya next week!
